Short Biographical statement

Glen Coutts is Professor of Applied Visual Arts Education and a Docent at the University of Lapland. A practising artist, he writes regularly about issues in art education. Since 2012 he has been Special Interest Group leader (Applied Visual Arts) of the Artic Sustainable Arts and Design research and development network: www.asadnetwork.org. A Past President of the National Society for Education in Art and Design (UK), he is president of the International Society for Education through Art (2019-22) and Past Principal Editor of the International Journal of Education through Art (2010–2016). In 2016, he was presented with the United States Society of Education through Art Ziegfeld Award for outstanding international leadership in art education. He is co-editor of the Relate North and Learning through Art series of books; more information here.
