Abstract:

The rise of generative artificial intelligence is redefining and reshaping the global economy including arts and art education. Many countries, including Korea, are striving to find the right balance between innovation and regulation while we are examining ways to ensure the safe and responsible development of this technology around arts. AI has recently shown astounding abilities to create realistic text, images, and even videos. Art is a medium that connects the internal and external experience of humanity, life, and existence. From early on in human history, vision and arts have been understood as having the power to transform the viewer at an emotional level. My research looks at the innovative impacts of AI technology on the rapidly growing creator world in Korea. How will this cutting-edge technology empower art students, spur innovation, and open new pathways for the new art environment. My study focus on below issues in studio art teaching for space art and design track in kangnam univerity where I am in. Does its ability present a big step in our quest to achieve artificial general intelligence? How this be harnessed to benefit humanity and lead to art education. What changes will AI technology bring about in the art higher education, and how should we prepare for these changes. What do these transformative changes of our era mean, and what are their implications especially in the studio art teaching field? The research of my studio art teaching and curriculum in my university share my thoughts and insights on how AI will revolutionize the arts and how we can enhance students benefits to humanity in higher education.
